Town Wars FAQ

Q: What is a Town War?

A: A Town War is one of the game features, which allows 2 towns to fight against each other to see who can defeat the other town.

Q: How do I declare war on another town?

A: To declare war on another town you must be the Mayor or Deputy Mayor of a town. You can use the Town War Setup link to do this. You can either choose and old style war, or just a normal one. When you’ve done this a drop down menu will appear. With that you choose the town you want to go to war with and then it’ll declare it. If that town has any Guard Towers, the war will be delayed by 1 hour. So if the town has 3 Guard Towers, the will be delayed by 3 hours and so on.

Q: How does a Town War work?

A: A Town War works like this. When the war first starts. Each town citizen will start with something what’s known as a counter. The counter will be set to 0. The counter stands for how many times that citizen has been attacked by another member of the opposing town. So, the more times your attacked and killed by a member of the opposing town, the higher your counter will be. Also, if an Auto Battle occurs, all of the members of both towns (who are not captured) will fight each other until one town has no members left alive. If you die in an Auto Battle, your counter will be raised by 1.  The higher your counter gets the higher the chance you will be captured.

Q: How long does a Town War last?

A: There is no set time limit. It could last a few days, it could last a few weeks. It all depends on the town your fighting, how many members they have etc.  Defender will win once they capture 75 % of the attacker. The attacking side needs to capture 80 % with out letting the defender reach 75 %.

Q: What does been captured mean?

A: If you are unlucky enough to get captured, it means that you can’t take part in fighting members of the opposing town. Nor can you fight other players until you’re free. When you’re captured, you can still help your town out. If you decide, you can donate Mana to give your town spirit energy. When your town has enough Spirit Energy, they can launch a Rescue Mission to try and release some of the captured players of your town. Otherwise, you’ll have to sit it out and wait for the war to end.  Some thing you do during this period will be taxed by the enemy town.

Q: What is Spirit Energy, and what does it do?

A: Spirit Energy is something that only occurs in Town Wars. If you are captured, and you pray at the Temple of Carduzo you’ll give the other town Spirit Energy without you even knowing it. When a town has enough Spirit Energy, that town can try a special tactics like a Rescue Mission to try and rescue some of its hostages, so they can fight again in the war.

Q: What is the Special Forces Team?

A: The Special Forces Team, ties in with the Rescue Mission. The team is made up of a Leader (he/she decides who goes in the team) and 9 other members of the town. The team is usually divided into this format: Member 1 being the strongest to member 9 being the weakest of the team. When a Rescue Mission is launched. This is the team, which fights to get current hostages free. Each town can’t see each others Special Forces Team so pick your team wisely.  You need to be in a town for SEVEN days to see the special forces setup.

Q: How do I get into my towns Special Forces Team, and where will I be placed?

A: For this, you can either ask the Mayor or the Deputy Mayor. But it’s best to ask the Defence Deputy of the town. All you have to do is send them an in-game mail, or post on the town’s Saloon. If they think you are good enough, you’ll be placed on the team according to where the Defence Deputy thinks you’ll be best suited.

Q: What is a Rescue Mission, and how do I run one?

A: A Rescue Mission can be run by you if you’re the Mayor or a Deputy Mayor of a town. A Rescue Mission requires Spirit Energy. This will start a fight between each town’s special forces.  If the attacker wins, they will free up to 4 hostages, so they can take part in the war again.

Q: I’m captured, but I cannot leave the town I’m in. Why not?

A: It’s the same as been in jail. Once your there, you can’t just get up and walk out. You have to wait until the war is over before you can leave the town.

Q: Is there anyway not to get captured?

A: There isn’t a way which makes it impossible to get captured. But by been sneaky, you can try and avoid been captured. To stand a chance of been captured, you have to be alive. Therefore, if you’re on at reset when everyone is revived. All you have to do is commit suicide and you’ll be dead therefore making the chances of you been captured smaller. There are other little tips and tricks as well. But you’ll find them out as you get to know the game better.  This is part of the challenge of the game of avoiding and dealing with the consequences of being captured.

Q: I have a counter, can I leave the town I’m in?

A: Yes you can but use caution. You’ll be banned from applying to all towns for 10 days. If you have an invite to a town, you also have to wait 10 days until you can use it.

Q: What is an AUTO BATTLE?

A: This is an automated fight between both towns, everyone that isn’t captured or in stasis is revived. A huge battle is fought, leaving one side left alive.  The winning side will receive battle XP which is another way to rank the towns.  You can check diplomacy to determine what time the battle will run so you can be prepared. At some point players will be able to set a battle positions.

Q: What is a Skirmish? (NEW, not implemented yet)

A: This is another tactic that can be used by towns during a war, it requires XXX spirit energy to launch.  This will start an automated fight between both towns, everyone that isn’t captured or in stasis is revived. A huge battle is fought.  BUT the duration of this battle is random.  This will run right after it is launched. This is something of a surprise attack that will leave the other side alive and could be unprepared to stand up to a PvP onslaught.  The winning side will receive battle XP.  In this case the defender will get it if the attacker doesn’t win the battle before it ends.

Q: What is are Town Alliances and Underground Hwy

A: An alliance is Between two towns. They can be made and broken through Diplomacy. Broken alliances will destroy all underground Hwy's that have been built. Towns must be of X level and might require a certain status to have them.  Underground Hwy can be built between allied towns. They are a one-way passage between them, used during a war. One player may travel per day and the town must have room for them.  Depending on how many a town has it can send players to the other town.  For each Hwy a player can travel to the other town and by-pass the travel time between downs, save their donation and time record in their previous town. At war's end these players will need to return using the otherr towns HWY's. This could take days to get everyone back.

Q: When I look at the towns citizen list, I see this: 100 members, 0 hostages (0%), 0 in stasis (0%), 0 count as captured (0). What does this mean?

A: This is what a Town War is based on. Basically, this is how you can tell who’s winning. The 100 members means that’s how many citizens the town has. The 0 hostages mean no one has been captured yet. The 0 in stasis means that no one is in vacation mode. When a Town War is taking place, these numbers will change. The aim of the game is to get the town your fighting to over 80% (attacker) 75 % (Defender) of its citizens captured. When this happens, and reset occurs your town is declared the winner therefore the war is over. If a person is in stasis, it counts towards the %, which is captured. As members join/leave the two towns that are at war, the %’s will fluctuate. But if your town keeps up the good work. You’ll easily be able to get it the required %.
